Who We Are

The Board of Directors advocates that its members and 300 Bayaud employees be representative of the people we serve, including those in leadership roles.  In 2022, 41% of the participants served were Persons of Color, whereas 42% of Bayaud’s employees and 48% of the Board members self-identify as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color. More than 50% of Bayaud’s Board of Directors have a family member (or have provided long-term care for individuals) with disabilities. As many as 63% of Bayaud participants were disabled while 34% of staff reported living with a disability.

Bayaud Enterprises is committed to the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEI-B) at all levels of our organization.

The voices, experience, and leadership of members in the communities Bayaud serves are typically represented through participant feedback using surveys, focus groups, Advisory Councils, and a newly established Quality Work Environment (QWE) Committee that includes consumer-participants. Focus groups and council members historically meet several times a year to assess programming and to offer suggestions on ways to improve our services.

Collaboration

Achievement of Bayaud’s mission is possible with the team efforts of our collaborators and partners.  Please join our expanding list.

Success story

Paul has a significant disability and was living in shelters when he began participating in the Day Works program in 2017. Within a few months, Paul was hired to work as a janitor at the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) under a federal fee for service contract with Bayaud. Paul, like other AbilityOne employees, is paid GSA wages and benefits.
