Denver, Colorado – In an effort to strengthen our work removing barriers to employment for individuals with disabilities and providing community resource navigation services throughout the Denver metropolitan area, Bayaud Enterprises has expanded with the purchase and renovation of a 17,400 square feet commercial building in Lakewood’s West Colfax corridor at 1550 Dover St., 80214. Bayaud will continue to have its headquarters in Denver’s Baker neighborhood at 333 W. Bayaud Ave., 80223.
As part of this expansion, Bayaud Enterprises has begun placing staff at our new location to implement the following programs:
- Bayaud Works: develops new social ventures that create jobs, provides training for future employment, and generates revenue to support additional programming.
- AbilityOne Integrated Supported Employment: holds 14 contracts with eight federal agencies to provide employment opportunities for adults with disabilities.
- Mobile Community Services: provides mobile laundry and shower services that alleviate barriers for seeking employment, housing security, and school attendance for single adults and families experiencing homelessness.
Bayaud Enterprises, founded in 1969 in Denver, is a nonprofit organization that removes barriers to self-sufficiency for adults with disabilities and other challenges to employment. Our mission is to create Hope, Opportunity, and Choice, with work as the means through which people with disabilities and other hurdles to employment can more fully participate in the mainstream of life.
“This expansion will allow Bayaud to increase its capacity to support more than 5,000 individuals annually throughout the Denver metro area with pathways to employment and critical services to attain self-reliance; in addition, we will continue growing our work as an innovator in the community for social enterprises,” said Tammy Bellofatto, Executive Director.
Bayaud Enterprises will host a tour event for community partners and supporters of our new Lakewood facility on Wednesday, February 9, 3-6 p.m. (1550 Dover St., 80214) with remarks from Ms. Tammy Bellofatto, Executive Director, beginning at 3:30 p.m.
