DayWorks

This program provides low-barrier employment services and day labor jobs for individuals experiencing homelessness. Typically, this is a 10-week program designed to assist individuals in obtaining and maintaining employment within the Denver Metropolitan area.  The program’s paid transitional work experience offers same-day cash payment for six hours of work beautifying various parks, business districts, and other public rights of way in multiple local communities. Crews work 1-3 days per week for up to 10 weeks.  During these 10 weeks, Employment Specialists and Case Managers assist participants in addressing employment hurdles and securing permanent jobs.

The new Jeffco Employment & Training (JET) initiative, a collaborative effort with Jeffco Workforce Development, offers a low-barrier DayWorks program. JET provides work experience and same-day pay to those experiencing homelessness or COVID related challenges.

Denver DayWorks has moved to the Colorado Village Collaborative at 1530 West 13th Ave., Denver, 80204.

Jeffco Employment Training program is located at 1550 Dover St., Lakewood.

responding to community need

Bayaud’s DayWorks program began in 2016 in Denver to offer transitional work experience to the increasing number of adults experiencing homelessness. After operating in Denver, Adams County, and the City of Aurora, the program continues to expand.  DayWorks is now also operating in the Jefferson County and on property operated by the Denver International Airport.  Since 2017, approximately 2,000 adults have engaged in the program with nearly 500 individuals placed in permanent jobs.
